Brillantmont International School was founded in 1882 and still belongs to the founding family. It is in the centre of Lausanne, overlooking the lake and the Alps.
Brillantmont welcomes 50 day students and 100 boarding students, aged 11-18, from around 35 different nationalities. Nationality quotas ensure a diverse student mix.
The school provides a warm, caring environment in which every student can feel at home and part of the Brillantmont family.
Courses prepare students for either British examinations (IGCSE, A Level) or an American High School Graduation Diploma with SAT or a mix of both. The small size of the school ensures maximum teacher attention. On completion of their studies, Brillantmont students enter universities all over the world, including Switzerland.
The school has an incredible campus just five minute’s walk from the centre of Lausanne. Eight buildings house classrooms and accommodation. A recently built multipurpose hall with a full sized gymnasium, music room, stage area sits at the heart of the campus. There is a multi-sports court and also a tennis court.
Facilities are constantly updated in order to provide the best learning environment for the students. The campus has wireless throughout and all classrooms use interactive, electronic facilities.
Numerous extra-curricular activities take place, usually at the end of the school day. These may be sporting, humanitarian, creative or other and may include:
football, basketball, swimming, trampoline, trapeze, tennis, volleyball, drawing, cooking, music, vocal club, school rock band, Habitat for Humanity (humanitarian project); Model United Nations.

“Our children settled well because of the attention paid to individual needs, strengths and areas of challenge. The teachers in small classes are able to teach each child with their individual learning style in mind. Being in a small close-knit school allowed the children and myself to interact more closely with the teachers/staff and the children to become more involved with school activities.”
“We preferred Brillantmont as it has a ‘family feel.’ Our daughter loves to be part of a multi-nationality school and she has blossomed since starting at BM. The nurturing environment has been a breath of fresh air and our daughter has been encouraged to be herself, but to have more self-confidence. “
