The Global Citizenship Summit is an exciting, ambitious and intensive programme. Uniquely based at one of our Global Education Centres on a game reserve in South Africa this inspiring programme has been designed to bring together tomorrow’s leaders from across the world to discuss and experience the issues their generation will face.
The programme will involve interactive experiences around the reserve, group discussions, presentations and practical tasks on major global issues such as poverty, inequality, empowerment, climate change, education, wildlife conservation and sustainability. There will be input from erudite, successful and philanthropic guest speakers who will inspire and provide thought provoking discussions.
The focus of this dynamic programme is on the students themselves, allowing them to lead, debate and experience first-hand the issues they will be confronting as leaders of tomorrow. Each group will prepare, present and lead discussions based around the United Nations Global Goals and discuss the world’s major challenges and how best to address them over the next 15 years.
The location allows participants to visit local townships, work alongside local communities and get involved in a service learning project. They will also address conservation/environmental issues during the course of the programme gaining an experiential understanding of the issues the world faces.
South Africa is a wonderful, diverse country with considerable social issues needing resolution but also has aspirations and a spirit to develop and change. In many ways the country encapsulates all of the Global Goals the United Nations has set out to achieve.

A word from the Head of School Partnerships:
I am very proud to introduce Ardmore Educational Travels first Global Citizenship Summit. Inspired by our philanthropic approach to developing Global Citizens through educational travel we are truly excited to be offering secondary students an opportunity to be involved in something different.
Ardmore Educational Travel has a mission to encourage international communication, understanding and perspective among students around the world through safe and educational experiences abroad. Our vision is to assist students in becoming active global citizens and achieve a global perspective. Our goal is to develop a generation of leaders who are focused on ethical and sustainable living.
Alongside peers from around the world they will address the key challenges their generation will face. We are looking for pioneering students to support our ethos. If you think you have students within your school who would thrive in this environment and benefit from what the programme offers please get in touch.
